What is  temp.exe

The temp.exe file, also known as Recycler, belongs to Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Recycler. The Windows Recycler serves as storage for files sent to the Recycle Bin. This program may be found in hard drives that have been formatted with the file system NTFS. It is found in a C:\Program Files subfolder and is 253,952 bytes in size on Windows 7/XP. The application is launched alongside the booting process of Windows. It is not considered an essential file for Windows, and it also does not have a visible window. Temp.exe is also associated with viruses, as the process could also stem from advertising programs. The application opens pop-up commercials by supervising user’s online habits and sending the data to the advertising company to be examined. This non-system process is classified as a risk to computer security and users are advised to delete the file from the system.
