What is  mshta.exe

The process file mshta.exe executes what is known as Microsoft HTML Application Host. The file has the main task of enabling applications designed in HTML to run in Windows-based systems. The dynamics of the process and the applications that it enables is basically the following: the file executes when an HTML application is loaded, once the application has been terminated, the file automatically terminates as well. This is a system file that is best left alone, unless you are encountering problems with the process. Usually however, problems with the file only occur when a loaded HTML application is found to have bugs. So what this means is that it is not the file itself that is found to have errors, but the applications that it enables to run in Windows. Terminating mshta.exe usually solved the issue. The file’s standard location on disk is C:\Windows\System 32\mshta.exe, while file size on disk is approximately 11.5 KB.
