What is  advapi32.dll

Advanced Windows 32 Base API is the description of the file advapi32.dll. The file stores important system modules that are loaded with executable system files during the startup procedure. The file basically stores modules for Windows OS Advanced Services such as the registry files, PC shutdown, computer reboot; and launching, creating or terminating a Windows process. The file therefore, is a critical component of your system. Without this file, startup procedure will not complete. Windows services will also fail to launch, and other processes that rely on the file’s modules will also fail to load. There are about 713 .dll System 32 files that are statically linked to advapi32.dll. This means that if any of these 713 files are executed, advapi32.dll modules will be loaded. If the modules are not found by the system, the file will fail to execute. In like manner, advapi32.dll is statically linked to other .dll files as well; so when advapi32.dll is loaded, these statically linked files will also be loaded: KERNEL32.dll, ntdll.dll, and RPCRT4.dll.

How can I stop advapi32.dll and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. advapi32.dll. is used by Microsoft Windows, If you shut down advapi32.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop advapi32.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Windows, from your system.
