Ping is a Windows OS process, installed through your Windows installer and executed with the file ping.exe. The process serves as a diagnostic tool for checking Web connection speeds, finding the IP address of a specific website, and determining the bounce rate between your PC and an external connection; the result of which is typically called time stamp and this time stamp will tell you whether or not your Web connection is working at its full capacity. To ping a website, you have to go to the cmd window of your operating system, and type in the command line. The file ping.exe is the main component used for TCP/IP command for troubleshooting Internet connectivity, particularly when connection speed is very slow; and also for name resolution. File sizes are from 16.5 KB to 19 KB. The file is a system file and as such, its normal storage destination is in the Windows folder, or in the subfolder C:\Windows\System 32.
