What is  av.exe

The file av.exe is a single file located in the C:\Username\AppData\Local in Windows Vista, or C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\AppData in Windows XP. The av.exe file cannot be seen running unless the rootkit containing it has been unloaded. In order to delete the file, an antivirus is needed to find it. It is a fake antivirus program, a variant of the ave.exe file installed by the Trojan FakeRean. Most antivirus programs identify av.exe as a malware. It has a file size of 157,184 bytes. File size may vary depending on the operating system being used. The av.exe file has an icon located in the taskbar beside the clcok. This is not a part of the Windows system file. Before deleting the virus, try to download the Combofix onto a USB drive. This file will help you find the virus and will get rid of it. The virus should be gone when you restart your computer.
