What is amdxata.sys

Windows Storage Filter Driver is installed through the driver with an extension file of amdxata.sys. The file has a default path of C:\Windows\System 32\Driver Store\FileRepository\amdxata.sys. The file is about 28,752 bytes. This is a background service that should not be stopped, as some users suggest, because doing so compromised the stability of their machines. In most cases, the Blue Screen of Death was encountered because of a corrupted driver, and the driver was not up-to-date. Users, who faced the much-dreaded BSOD, found out that the corrupted file even prevented them from running the computer in Safe Mode. Updating the file and re-installing their OS seemed to have worked though. System files may become corrupted because of virus intrusion. Other times, the amdxata.sys was not detected by the system because of rootkits. The file itself however, is not seen as a security threat, having been installed by a legitimate Windows driver, and licensed by Microsoft.
