What is  wmdsync.exe

The file wmdsync.exe process is also known as User session Windows Mobile device handler with a command %windir%\WindowsMobile\wmdSync.exe added by the Windows Mobile Device Center. This process is used in managing device settings, media, and programs for mobile devices of Windows Vista and Windows 7. The Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center allows the user in synchronizing content and managing music, pictures and videos efficiently, and setting up new partnerships with Windows Mobile powered devices. This file is located in %windir%\WindowsMobile\wmdSync.exe and is started automatically once the startup entry has been started from a Run, RunOnce, RunService, or RunServiceOnce entry in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft Windows\CurrentVersion\Run). This file has the size of 215,552 bytes of 210K and its location can vary in different Windows versions or languages. It runs in the Task Manager as the wmdsync.exe process. This process runs with Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0.6002.131072). wmdsync.exe is a 32-bit running program that executes with the privileges as the currently logged in user account.
