What is  printkey.exe

Taking screen shots from your computer by pressing PrtSc or Print Screen on the keyboard, is a process enabled by the file printkey.exe. This is a program that was especially designed for Windows-based computers and laptops, hence; you will usually find the file already installed into the system when you purchase a computer that has Windows on it. The file installs with Windows OS, too, in case you will manually install your own Operating System. The file is not required to run in the background, so users can disable the file if they wish to do so. The software was designed by Alfred Bolliger for Fred’s Software Company, with a file name of PrintKey Freeware Version. The process is also known as PrintKey English. Common file path for the process is C:\Proragm Files\Tools\Printkey\ printkey.exe. So far, the file has not been linked to any computer threats, thereby it is considered as a safe process to run.

How can I stop printkey.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. printkey.exe. is used by Microsoft Windows, If you shut down printkey.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop printkey.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Windows, from your system.
