What is regsvc.exe

The process regsvc.exe is a Remote Registry Service file. It is part of Microsoft Windows Operating System. The Remote Registry Service allows the user to manipulate the registry remotely. Thus computers which are located from a distance can gain access to the local registry through the regsvc.exe file. It is also used by several computer utilities. There are local programs which use this file to be able to edit the registry. As long as the user allows the regsvc.exe file to run in the background upon startup, the features of the application will continue to function. To be able to make modifications to the registry from a remote terminal, the user has to become a member of the local administrators group on the remote terminal.
