This application is launched upon booting, with the following registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. This file is invisible and is not a system file for Windows. It is capable of interfering with other programs and monitoring applications. For Windows 7/XP, its file size ranges from 20,992 to 98,816 bytes. There are high occurrences of svcnost.exe being duplicated by malware and users are usually advised to immediately remove this file. From the registry, this file is automatically launched from an entry in Runservices, RunOnce, Runservices, or Run. It uses ports to communicate and accept data. This process may also be with Opera Internet Browser from Opera Software.
