FTDIBUS USB Driver or FTDBUS Driver is a process that is associated with the executable file ftdibus.sys. This is a file that is usually installed through the drivers for on-board computer chips. What this translates to is that the file generally comes pre-loaded onto computer systems, either by the vendor or by the machine’s OEM. The file generally enables your on-board chips, i.e. for processor board or USB adapter board, to work and function correctly. The file serves as a system driver so disabling it is not the general recommendation. There have been occasions when users encountered the Blue Screen of Death for a few seconds, and the issue was related to the ftdibus.sys file. A conflict with other system drivers seemed to have caused the BSOD, where one driver was of an older version and the other was more current. The older version appears to be the one causing the conflict with ftdibus.sys. The file has the default installation path of C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\ftdibus.sys.
