The file aspi32.sys is associated with the ASPI Layer from Adaptec. The file executes a process called ASPI for Win32 Kernel Driver. The driver is responsible for communicating with a SCSI computer peripheral, and allowing it to function. Computer peripherals such as standard keyboards and mice, memory cards, video cards, sound cards, and hard drives need the file so the system can recognize these devices, and be ready for use. If the file is unable to launch in some way, one or all of the peripherals attached to the computer may not function properly, or in worst-case scenarios, not function at all. The driver can be manually installed, but if your machine comes complete with the peripherals, especially sound card and video card, then it is very likely that the driver has been installed by the computer manufacturer already, or by the vendor of the machine. The file is saved in the system driver folder, C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\aspi32.sys.
