What is spoolsvc.exe

Spooling allows the system to print in the background, so the computer is not tied up during each printing process. The process spools.exe transfers the data in a buffer, and when the printer needs the data, it is retrieved from the buffer. When the printer is in use, the process spools.exe is launched and it can be seen running in the Windows Task Manager. This file is initialized when the computer starts, and it runs in the background until the computer is turned off.
