What is skeys.exe

The file skeys.exe is a process which belongs to the Microsoft Windows Operating System and provides the Serial Keys Utility. It is a system service that adds support to the Serial Keys feature that is designed for people who have difficulty using the computer's standard keyboard or mouse. Serial keys provide support so that alternative input devices such as single switch devices or puff and sip devices can be plugged into the computer's serial port. This file is installed as part of the Windows Operating System and it resides in the default directory. Running this program requires the files Advapi32.dll that provides extensions to the Windows API, Msvcrt.dll that is used by programs compiled with C++ that provides functions like memory allocation, and Skdll.dll that is a DLL library of code components for a graphics UI style application. The skeys.exe process also requires the files Kernel32.dll, which is a core Win32API that is responsible for the file system, and User32.dll that handles the Windows GUI.
