What is  ksthunk.sys

Kernel Streaming WOW Thunk Service is the application that is connected to the file ksthunk.sys. It is a Windows process that installs on a 64-bit platform. Common directory path is C:\Windows\System 32\drivers\ksthunk.sys. File size is just between 20 and 21 KB. There is not much data or detailed information that can define the exact attributes of the file, except that the file is an audio device driver from Microsoft, with the application being also known as Microsoft Kernel Audio Driver. This is a system file that should therefore be left alone, in order for your audio device to function. In some instances, the file was found to be in conflict with a driver for a Web camera, as per users’ accounts. There was nothing more to be found about the file, specifically in relation to its CPU usage or efficiency, or its effect on other processes running together with it in the background.
