The splash.exe process is developed by Hewlett Packard VPN Server Appliances Client Deployment Tool which allows the user to a software information to a huge number of users and to use configuration. It also featured with tunnels, devices and access to users; allowing the users to customize information entries; allows only one user to write to the VPN Client Deployment Tool Database at a time; scan to generate user list; and deploys notifications to email. It is an important process that should not be terminated to maintain the stability and to secure running of the computer. The splash.exe file works hand in hand with autorun.inf to enable the users in launching the installation of the documentation on Windows 2000, NT, 98, and 95. In order to run the graphical user interface subsystem and for x86 architecture, the splash.exe process was built. Only Windows NT Server and Windows 2000 Server can work with client deployment tool of VPN. It is not a Windows System file and starts when Windows starts under registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. splash.exe. is used by Microsoft Windows, If you shut down splash.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop splash.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Windows, from your system.
