What is  iexplore.exe

Microsoft has an integrated Web browser in their operating systems, and this is known as Windows Internet Explorer, which executes through the file iexplore.exe. This is the main executable file that launches the IE application installed in all Windows operating systems. The file’s general location is C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer iexplore.exe. The file is automatically launched wit system boot-up, and runs only when invoked. Usual file size is 744.1 KB. There have been quite a few reports where the application crashed, mainly due to a dysfunctional module associated with the application: mshtmll.dll. There were other reports as well that a number of worms and backdoor viruses have linked themselves to the valid Microsoft file, masked as the real deal to confuse the system and users. The harmful files were mostly found directly located in the Windows folder in the following path: C:\Windows\iexplore.exe. The iexplore.exe file is one of the most exploited executable files used to infect systems and processes.
