What is  srvnet.sys

The srvnet.sys file is an instance of driver process and a Windows program, called by the service name Server Network, which is a part of Microsoft Windows Operating System, a software product developed by Microsoft Corporation. This module, srvnet.sys, which is technically regarded as hotfix, is a part of both Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 Special Pack 1, Windows 7 and Windows 7 Special Pack 1. The only way this hotfix can be applied is if the computer used or any virtual machine where to install this has the Windows OS mentioned previously (Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7). This is available to download from Microsoft Update, and once installed on the computer, the Server Network, or technically the module srvnet.sys, must be stored on the folder location and remain running in the background, whenever the program associated with it is launched, either manually or automatically during startup.

How can I stop srvnet.sys and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. srvnet.sys. is used by Microsoft Windows, If you shut down srvnet.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop srvnet.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Windows, from your system.
