File protection for computers that run on Windows OS is installed via sfc_os.dll, which should be found in the OS installer. The process known as Windows File Protection is responsible for checking that all system files are valid, and that these are safe to run in the system. Files that are launched when sfc_os.dll is launched are ntdl.ll, user32.dll, kernel32.dll, rpcrt4.dll, advapi.dll, wintrust.dll, crypt32.dll, and ole32.dll. If any one of these files is missing, sfc_os.dll will not load. On the other hand, loaded localspl.dll and sfc.dll files will automatically load the sfc_os.dll file. There were instances when the file sfc_os.dll was detected as a virus, and other than the file being corrupted; the main reason that the file is detected as a virus, is because the Windows OS installed on the computer is not a legitimate copy. In cases where the OS is not original, the patch is made to simulate the original version to make the OS seem like the original, hence; it will be eligible to receive updates from Microsoft.
