What is  setup.exe

The file setup.exe is generally used to install certain software programs. The file executes when you install your software. The file is generated by the programs to set up their applications on your PC. Being a generic setup host, the file has been used by a number of viruses and other malicious files to execute their harmful processes on your PC. Usually, the file is installed in the Program Files folder of the computer. File size depends on the application that installed it. This could be anywhere from 32,768 bytes to 116,880 bytes. Sometimes the file size can be smaller or bigger than the average range. You may check the process related to the file if you see it running in your Task Manager window. If the process is familiar to you, and you are aware that you installed it, it is probably a safe process. If the file is found to use up CPU resources, and is attached to a process that you do not remember installing, or you know nothing about; this could be some form of malicious file.
