What is  confcon.dll

Many users claim that the confcon.dll file has been flagged by their anti-malware applications as a malicious program associated with some variants or components of a Trojan family that is known to infect Windows-based computers with outdated OS security certificates and unencrypted TCP/IP network ports. These users state that the confcon.dll malware has an EXE component process deployed into the system with self-activating functionalities, and this executable component process is said to be capable of creating and inserting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry upon its initial placement and subsequent activation in the unprotected Windows-based computer. These registry keys and entries are said to instruct the system to allow this executable component file and the confcon.dll malware to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as hidden background processes during system runtime. These users also reported that the confcon.dll malware is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the unprotected Windows-based system, which this malicious application uses to establish data transmission and communication lines with predesignated remote servers, in order for the confcon.dll malware to download more malicious items unto the infected system, some of which (according to a few of these users) are spyware applications that can gather private user details and Internet surfing information from the unprotected computer and its default Web browser.
