What is  clcr.exe

Many users have reported that their system security tools flag the clcr.exe process as a malicious program associated with certain families of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems. These same users claim that the clcr.exe process is capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in order for the system to allow the clcr.exe process to implement its self-activating functionalities during system startup. These users also state that the clcr.exe process is embedded with certain functionalities that allow it to operate as a hidden background process during system runtime, in order to secretly search for system vulnerabilities that the clcr.exe process can exploit and use to download more malicious programs unto the system. These system vulnerabilities include outdated Web browsers that the clcr.exe process can hijack in order to replace the homepage settings and redirect the Web browser to predesignated IP addresses of Web servers that are managed by the authors of the clcr.exe process, or unprotected TCP/IP network ports that can be used by the clcr.exe process for initiating contact with the remote servers of its authors.

How can I stop clcr.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. clcr.exe. is used by Trojan, If you shut down clcr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop clcr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan, from your system.
