The clcbt.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a malicious program classified by their system security tools as a Trojan. These same user reports claim that the clcbt.exe process is embedded with functionalities for creating and inserting entries and keys into the Windows System Registry, in order for the system to allow the clcbt.exe process to self-execute during system startup. These users also state that the clcbt.exe process is capable of secretly operating during system runtime as a hidden background process, and this is said to be performed by the clcbt.exe file in order to covertly search and exploit certain system vulnerabilities that can allow the clcbt.exe process to initiate contact with predesignated Web servers and download more malicious programs unto the infected Windows-based system. Some of these users reported that these system vulnerabilities include unprotected TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. clcbt.exe. is used by Trojan, If you shut down clcbt.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop clcbt.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan, from your system.
