The mplayer2.exe file is the major process found in the Microsoft Windows Media Player program. It has developed by Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft Windows Media Player allows the user to open, play and manage audio and video files. It is the basic media application installed in the computer when Microsoft Windows is the operating system being used. Aside from being a media player, mplayer2.exe enables Windows Media Player to rip music from and copy music to compact discs, burn rewritable discs in audio CD format or as data discs, synchronize files with MP3 player and other mobile handsets, and purchase music from online music stores. The mplayer2.exe makes Windows Media Player more advanced than the older version of the Media Player application by including functionalities other than the usual video or audio playback. The Windows Media Player application becomes active in the computer system once the mplayer2.exe process is executed. Only then can the user play audio and video using the media player.
