The setup_wm.exe file is a process that is a part of the application Microsoft Windows Media Player from Microsoft Corporation. During its launch, the file setup_wm.exe is seen running in the task manager. As an essential part of the program, setup_wm.exe must be remained stored in the computer system. In fact, this particular file is a component of the tool Microsoft Windows Media Configuration Utility, which is a big part of the Windows Media Player. For the media player application to fully function, the setup_wm.exe file needs to be actively and consistently working. Removing it can make the whole program malfunction, which may require re-installation of the software of Microsoft Windows Media Player.
