AV Engine is the service name of the file eng64.sys, which is a type of driver file, and is a component of the program Symantec Antivirus Engine, also in C9650n Series PS Driver, and is created by Symantec Corporation. Symantec Antivirus Engine is a type of security software that is installed onto a Windows computer, laptop, or notebook, and protects the system from viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, and malware. It is an essential program that needs to keep installed onto the PC, and must not be deleted, because it can disable its function. Likewise, eng64.sys must be kept running in the background, since it is a component of the security software. This file also has a digital signature from Symantec Corporation - Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G3, and makes it more important to remain active on the system. This file process works with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
