What is  sw.exe

The sw.exe file has always been a part of SmartWhois software. SmartWhois provides the user with available data on IP address, host name, or domain, including country, state, city, name of the network provider, and administrator and technical support contact information. The sw.exe file allows the software to find the information about a computer from a different country and inquire for the appropriate database and deliver all data related to the query. All information gathered by SmartWhois can be saved in an archive file. SmartWhois can cache collected information, process lists of IP addresses and domains, use batch mode and send data in various formats. The sw.exe file makes all these processes possible by simply launching the software. The user may monitor the activity of software by checking the Task Manager from time to time. The sw.exe file can be seen running in the background. It has plug-ins available for Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Maxthon Browser and others.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sw.exe. is used by SmartWhois, If you shut down sw.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
