The file psunmain.exe is the installer for the User Interface of Panda Security’s Cloud Antivirus. Panda Cloud Antivirus provides system protection without affecting CPU usage because it runs on Cloud technology. The program utilizes a remote server to scan the system, which translates to CPU process speeds not being affected while scanning is in progress. The file can be disabled if the antivirus program is no longer being used, but if the AV is still active in the system; disabling it could compromise the AV program’s functions. Default command path for the file is C:\Program Files\Panda Security\Panda Cloud Antivirus\ psunmain.exe. Users find the AV program to be effective. However, installing the program in computer systems that have other AV programs also installed may have all AV programs running in conflicts with one another, as some users discovered. A different type of antivirus software may detect the Panda Cloud Antivirus program as malicious software; and in like manner, Panda Cloud AV may also detect other AV software as malware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. psunmain.exe. is used by Panda Cloud AV, If you shut down psunmain.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop psunmain.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Panda Cloud AV, from your system.

Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
