What is  mpk.dll

The mpk.dll process has been reported by many users as a component of the Refog keylogger application, which is a malicious program known to secretly record keyboard inputs and log these collected pieces of data in a file that can be transmitted by the mpk.dll keylogger program to remote servers operated and managed by its authors. The mpk.dll process has also been reported by some users as a hidden resource module of the KGB Keylogger software, which is another malware application integrated with functionalities that are implemented by this malicious program for covertly collecting keyboard inputs and transmitting this data to predesignated Web servers. Some user reports claim that the mpk.dll process, upon its successful placement and activation in a Windows-based system, can create and inject keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in order to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as a background process without user consent during system runtime.
