The hpwjaupdateservice.exe file is the process called PMService that is used by the application HP WJA or Web Jetadmin Update Service created by Hewlett-Packard Company. This program does not have a visible window. It is not a system process. It connects to the Internet or LAN through open ports. HP Web Jetadmin is a software that provides print management solutions to improve productivity and reduce the costs of operation. HP WJA version 10.3 offers convenience with a Web-based interface for managing, troubleshooting, installing and configuring both non-HP and HP networked print devices. It includes multithreading, configuration filtering according to device model, hostname support, group policy enhancements and enhanced alert polling. It has built-in automated restore and backup features for you to retain existing HP WJA configuration. Management features include alerts for supplies and robust device, customizable fleet deployment tools and support for various operating systems.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpwjaupdateservice.exe. is used by HP Web Jetadmin, If you shut down hpwjaupdateservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hpwjaupdateservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Web Jetadmin, from your system.
