Developed by Hewlett-Packard Company, hpqdirec.exe is the process file for HP Solution Center, Hewlett-Packard’s software quality assurance. HP Solution Center has three versions: • Quality Center – ActiveX-based software, a global application testing utility, available in Starter edition • Quality Center Enterprise – originally named Mercury TestDirector, is a quality assurance software for managing medium and large businesses • Lifecycle Management – a software incorporating the capabilities of the Quality Center Enterprise edition, combining it with Project Planning and Tracking and Asset Sharing to manage the functional performance, quality, and security the system requirements to the application delivery. HP Solution Center software contains several modules: requirements, management (libraries sub-module and release sub-module), test lab, test resources, dashboard, business components, and defects management. HP Solution Center is usable on Windows operating systems with Internet Explorer browsers. It can be launched as a regular desktop application. Hpqdirec.exe is useful when unable to download the ActiveX control, or when the browser restricts ActiveX components.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpqdirec.exe. is used by HP Director, If you shut down hpqdirec.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hpqdirec.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Director, from your system.
