Most reports from users and anti-virus programs identify fio32.dll file as spyware that is a form of malware. Microsoft recognizes this file as TrojanProxy:Win32/Koobface.gen!G. The location of this DLL file is in C:\Windows\System32 folder. Known sizes for this file include 53,760 bytes, 51,200 bytes and 50,688 bytes with 64% occurrence. You can access this service under Services on Windows Control Panel. It is not a visible program. Spyware is an application that helps in getting information about an organization or a person without their consent and will send this information to another entity. It may also control the targeted computer system without the knowledge of the owner. Spyware can be in the form of adware, Trojan, tracking cookies or system monitor. It tracks the movement of the user and may serve popup ads. Its presence is not easily detected by the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fio32.dll. is used by TrojanProxy:Win32/Koobface.gen!G, If you shut down fio32.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fio32.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TrojanProxy:Win32/Koobface.gen!G, from your system.
