The file diskdefrag.exe, known as Auslogics Disk Defrag, belongs to software Auslogics Disk Defrag. This compact defragmenter can improve the performance of the PC by de-fragmenting and rearranging the files on the computer hard disk. Defragmentation is carried out using a powerful engine that can defragment large multi-terabyte volumes, including optimization of the hard drive files to gain higher performance. This application employs optimization algorithms that enable users to defragment free space, move system files to the fastest part of the disk, and clear the MFT Reserved Zone from the regular files. Since it is more practical to defragment commonly used files more often, Disk Defrag allows users to defragment only selected files or an entire folder to speed up an application. Other features included in this software are an auto-defragmentation system that works when the computer is idle, free space consolidation, producing a list of fragmented files that enable the user to choose files to defragment, and a customization tool that can be integrated into the Windows Explorer context menu.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. diskdefrag.exe. is used by Disk Defrag, If you shut down diskdefrag.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop diskdefrag.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Disk Defrag, from your system.
