The file dbsnmp.exe, known as Oracle Intelligent Agent Executable is a process from Oracle. The Oracle Database, commonly referred to as Oracle RDBMS or Oracle, is a database system that comprise at least one instance of an application. The process dbsnmp.exe relates to the Oracle Intelligent Agents, which are autonomous proxy processes on a managed node. The agents perform execution and monitoring tasks for the Oracle Enterprise Manager, which is software management application from Oracle. Oracle Intelligent Agents are processes running on remote nodes in a network, and the Oracle Enterprise Manager works with these agents across the network to discover the services running on the nodes. The Intelligent Agent that resides in the node monitor events, run jobs, and collects routine data for real-time performance monitoring and historical analysis. A platform running Intelligent Agent can be incorporated into the Oracle Enterprise Manager framework, as long as TCP/IP communication between the Oracle Enterprise Manager middle tier and the Intelligent Agent is possible.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dbsnmp.exe. is used by Oracle Enterprise Manager, If you shut down dbsnmp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dbsnmp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Oracle Enterprise Manager, from your system.
