Data Manager Module is the process name of the file datamanager.exe, and is a component of the program Altiris PXE Server, or Altiris PXE Manager, or Spotlight on Exchange, which is developed by Quest Software. When the software is downloaded onto the computer, whether a desktop PC, a laptop, or a notebook, the datamanager.exe process is also installed on the system, since it is a component of it, and automatically runs in the background. It is not advisable to terminate or stop the file, because it can disable its function, or affect the overall objective of the software. However, if it is causing problems that slow down the computer, particularly its system performance, datamanager.exe can be removed. If not, it must remain active and continuously running in the program. This file is also a module that works with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. datamanager.exe. is used by Altiris PXE Server or Altiris PXE Manager, If you shut down datamanager.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop datamanager.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Altiris PXE Server or Altiris PXE Manager, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Altiris PXE Server or Altiris PXE Manager, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
