Developed by Microsoft Corporation, cvtres.exe is the process driver for COFF Visual To Resource file, a utility that converts resource files into visual object files. Cvtres.exe is the main component for Visual Studio, an integrated development environment used for developing consoles and graphical user interface platforms alongside web sites, Windows forms applications, web services, and web applications in native codes together with the managed codes for the platforms by Microsoft Windows, such as Windows Mobile, .NET Framework, Windows CE, and Microsoft Silverlight. Visual Studio provides a code editor that supports code refactoring. It also contains integrated debugger that works as source-level debugger and machine-level debugger. Its built-in tools include forms designer that builds GUI applications, class designer, database schema designer, and web designer. Visual Studio supports many different programming languages through language services that allow its debugger and code editor to support almost any programming language, when language-specific services exist.
