Developed by Microsoft Corporation, bbsvc.exe is the process file for Bing Bar, an extension tool bar for the Internet Explorer browser. Formerly MSN Toolbar, Bing Bar previously supported Mozilla Firefox until Microsoft discontinued support. The Bing Bar incorporates the Windows Live features like Hotmail, the Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live ID, and Windows Live features from the Bing search engine. Its user-interface features visual effects like flip, rollover, and slide animations, themes, and colors. The toolbar “flyout" content windows enable users view to the latest contents from the MSN Portal without switching internet pages. The users can select from MSN content buttons to represent preferred user interface. Bing Bar integrates the Microsoft Bing search engine, allowing search using other Bing services like Images, Video, Shopping, News, Maps, Travel, etc. When the user searches on other search engines, Bing Bar's search box automatically populates itself to allow view of the results coming from Bing, if desired.
