Bing Bar is an application that is related to Internet Explorer, which comes with the executable file extension, mswinext.exe. The file executes an application known as browser extension toolbar specifically designed as a support for IE, where attributes from Windows Live and the Bing search engine are put together under the browser extension toolbar. The file has been reported though as being a CPU hog, which compelled a good number of users to disable the file. You can locate it in its default command path of C:\Program Files\MSN Toolbar\Platform\5.0.1449.0\mswinext.exe. Its CPU utilization average is 0.00039%. Its context switches averages at a staggering 662 switches per second. This file version has a standard size of 237.48 KB. Its average RAM usage is also higher than the average RAM utilization, where the file uses up to 35.68 MB while the average usage of most programs is only 27.25 MB. Non-system module loaded by the process is npctrll.dll.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. mswinext.exe. is used by Bing Bar, If you shut down mswinext.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop mswinext.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Bing Bar, from your system.
