The almxpmgr.exe is an executable file that is part of Extended Program Manager belonging to Simatic WinCC software by Siemens AG. Simatic WinCC is a SCADA  (Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition) system for visualizing and operating of production flows, machines, plants and processes in all business lines. Systems that are distributed enable a number of stand-alone systems up to 2,048 to link via a network. Each subsystem can be configured either as single or multi-user systems, redundant or not. The software depends consistently on object orientation for process images and the database structure. Its basic software is the core of an integrated system of WinCC, WinCC options and WinCC add-ons designed to build-up a solution tailored to user’s specific preference. It represents a universally applicable process visualization system offering features of a legit HMI Software. The Simatic WinCC is consistent in building highest possible accessibility and ability to integrate design using standard technologies and software tools.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. almxpmgr.exe. is used by Simatic WinCC , If you shut down almxpmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
