The aei.exe process or Spy Sweeper, was created by Webroot Software. Webroot is a widely known supplier of Internet security for its businesses and consumers worldwide. Webroot is headquartered in Colorado and was founded in 1997. It is considered one of the largest privately held companies specializing in Internet security in the United States of America. The aei.exe process or Spy Sweeper is a software product that is capable of detecting and removing viruses and spyware on a user’s computer system running on Microsoft Windows. This program examines a user’s files on his or her PC’s hard disk drive, including its objects in its memory, the Windows cookies and registry, then quarantines suspicious or malicious looking materials it can find. MSN Premium is an example of a broadband service that offers rebranded versions of Spy Sweeper when a user subscribes to them. This anti-virus program gives protection and the process claims to be fast, easy and will not prove to be in conflict with a user’s other applications.
