The tffsmon.sys process is a system component bundled with the executable program files, DLL modules, other SYS driver files and associated resources that are used and referenced by the ThreatFire software, which is a Windows program classified as a system security tool designed by PC Tools with a set of features for monitoring, detecting and protecting the system against malicious activity performed by spyware programs, Trojans, viruses, worms and other data security risks, system stability issues and user privacy threats. The tffsmon.sys process is specifically deployed as a component of the ThreatFire Filesystem Monitor module, which is an applet built into the ThreatFire software. The tffsmon.sys process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the ThreatFire program, which means the tffsmon.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation of the ThreatFire software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tffsmon.sys. is used by PC Tools ThreatFire Filesystem Monitor Module, If you shut down tffsmon.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tffsmon.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PC Tools ThreatFire Filesystem Monitor Module, from your system.
