The terminal.exe file is known by the service name MetaTrader, and a component of the software MetaTrader, which is developed by MetaQuotes Software. The MetaTrader program is a type of electronic trading platform used by retail foreign exchange traders, and licensed to brokers who have to provide this to their every client. This software features a client component, which is used to see live streaming of prices, charts, as well as account management, and a server component, which is run by the foreign exchange broker. The company developed this account and billing software for Microsoft Windows computers, regardless of the version of the operating system used. Once the program is installed, this terminal.exe file is also downloaded, stored on a particular folder location on a Windows PC, and runs in the background, if the application is launched. If this file is missing, stopped or deleted, it can disable the software from properly working.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. terminal.exe. is used by MetaTrader, If you shut down terminal.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
