The sr_service.exe file is called SecureClient Service, also Check Point VPN-1 SecuRemote, VPN-1 SecureClient NGX of version R60 HFA2, which is a type of Windows process, and a component of the software VPN-1 SecuRemote, as well as in VPN-1 SecureClient, and Check Point VPN-1, products created by Check Point Software Technologies. These programs are a type of network software, particularly related to VPN, which means virtual private network. They are developed to support standard VPN protocols and algorithms for compatibility with the security policies of both VPN-1 and Firewall-1. They also support fixed IP addressed for Internet Service Provider (ISP) services, including cable modem, dial-up and Digital Subscriber Lines, or DSLs. Each of these software products is used to protect business communications on both wireless and traditional local area networks, or LANs. Because it is one of the essential components, the sr_service.exe file must be kept running on the system, and to allow the assigned tasks enabled during the launch of the program that houses it.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sr_service.exe. is used by VPN-1 SecuRemote or VPN-1 SecureClient, If you shut down sr_service.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sr_service.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is VPN-1 SecuRemote or VPN-1 SecureClient, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as VPN-1 SecuRemote or VPN-1 SecureClient, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
