The file snapshot.exe serves as the main executable file for the software Drive Snapshot for Windows NT. This is a backup and recovery tool that enables users to replicate the exact disk images of all your files, folders, system data, registry, and every other important data that you have stored on the PC. The file backs up your data even while you are running Windows applications, which translates to you being able to continue with whatever you are doing while back up is in progress. In case of system crash or failure, the backed up data can be restored in their exact images. This gives you back all your stored data as well as OS files, in exactly the way they were previously stored on your PC, as if the crash never happened. The best part is that the file is compatible with all versions of Windows and their corresponding file systems. The file has the default location of C:\Windows\System 32.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. snapshot.exe. is used by Drive Snapshot for WindowsNT, If you shut down snapshot.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop snapshot.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Drive Snapshot for WindowsNT, from your system.
