The setdate.exe process is also known as Set Date Time zone File which belongs to the Set Date software under the Microsoft designer. It is located in a sub directory file under C:\Windows. This type of process is neither a Windows system file nor a Windows core file. Due to its function, it is considered 30% dangerously unsecured. This is a utility program that allows the user to activate or run a certain program under the user’s specified date and time. Although it does not alter the current system’s date and time, it is able to manipulate the date and time on a desired application which needs such revision. It further revises the date in the operating system by utilizing the computer clock settings on the computer. Since this is not a vital part of the system, it can be safely removed and disabled should possible threats be encountered with this process.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. setdate.exe. is used by Set Date software, If you shut down setdate.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop setdate.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Set Date software, from your system.
