The peauth.sys file is the process that is basically called as Protected Environment Authentication and Authorization Export Driver, or PEAUTH Driver, which is bundled in the Microsoft Windows operating system software. Since this driver file is digitally signed from Microsoft Time-Stamp Service, it is not recommended to remove it. It is an executable file (32 bit), and does not need to have a user interface. This program includes driver directory that holds all driver files, mostly those with .sys extension file, and allow applications to function, using different hardware devices and communication protocols, which include TCP/IP. There are two security hashescreated within this file process. These are SHA1, which is more secure, and MD5, which each of these security hashes scans all bytes. In addition, any identical files must have the same hashes. With file sizes of586,752 bytes or 878,080 bytes, this file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers, and can be accessed in the Control Panel.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. peauth.sys. is used by Protected Environment Authentication and Authorization Export Driver from Microsoft Windows, If you shut down peauth.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop peauth.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Protected Environment Authentication and Authorization Export Driver from Microsoft Windows, from your system.
