The file pcloudd.exe is known as pCloudd Application that belongs to software Iomega Personal Cloud from Iomega Corp. This patent pending technology connects Iomega StorCenter network storage devices to other devices like PC and Mac computers, iPhone, and iPad over the Internet. Unlike public and private cloud applications, the Personal Cloud Technology is owned by the user, which means control of accessibility and contents. This technology simplifies collaboration and protection of business data that is facilitated by two or more StorCenter devices from different locations that are connected together under one personal cloud. Automatic copying and reproduction of files from any storage device is enabled, and security is maintained since access and membership in the cloud is user controlled. Files within the personal cloud network can be accessed from PC or Mac, and from an iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone. Users will realize cost savings from this application since there will be no monthly service and storage fees like those charged by cloud storage sites.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pcloudd.exe. is used by Iomega Personal Cloud, If you shut down pcloudd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pcloudd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Iomega Personal Cloud, from your system.
