The file gnabtray.exe, known as Gnab Tray, belongs to software Gnab by Empolis GmbH. Empolis GmbH is a provider of smart management software that includes content management, knowledge management, and service management. The file gnabtray.exe is a process that is installed in the computer enables the user to access the peer-to-peer file sharing services that are offered using the Gnab download platform. Gnab is a peer-to-peer (P2P) download platform, which is a white-label platform for legally distributing digital contents like ringtones, music videos, and music in an online network. Gnab combines a central platform with a decentralized peer-to-peer network. Internet peer-to-peer networks emerged in the 1990s due to the development of P2P file sharing networks. Technically, many P2P file sharing networks are not pure peer networks but rather hybrid designs that utilize central servers for some functions such as search. Peer networks allow data to be shared easily in both directions, whether for downloads or for uploads to the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gnabtray.exe. is used by Gnab Service, If you shut down gnabtray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gnabtray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Gnab Service, from your system.
