What is ent.exe
The process ent.exe, known as Essential NetTools, belongs to software Essential NetTools by TamoSoft. This software is a set of security, network scanning, and administrator tools that is useful in diagnosing nertworks and monitoring the computer's network connections. This powerful network tool kit contains a wide selection of tools like NetStat, NBScan, PortScan, and HostAlive and other tools for maintaining a secure network. NetStat displays the computer's inbound and outbound connections, including the information on open TCP and UDP ports, IP address, and connection states. It has the ability to map open ports to the owning application. NBScan is the tool that scans NetBIOS, which has the capability to scan a network within a given range of IP addresses and list computers offering NetBIOS resource-sharing service, as well as their name tables and MAC addresses. Network monitoring can be done with HostAlive to periodically check if a host is alive and running network services, such as an HTTP or FTP server.
