The cwclient.exe file is a process file also known as Codework File or CurrentWare client service from Codework. This EXE process is the executable file for BrowseControl, or BrowseControl Client (part of the CurrentWare Suite) or CurrentWare. The BrowseControl application is used to restrict Internet access and to block certain applications, such as games or instant messenger. It may be suitable for hotels, schools, small businesses, companies, hospitals, clinics, libraries and other places. The BrowseControl program is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit platforms and functions in two modes – PC Mode or User Mode. In PC Mode, Internet restrictions are activated on the all computers in the network, regardless of the user logged in to the managed computer. In User Mode, the network administrator regulates each Windows user regardless of the computer being used. In order for the program to block applications, the Application Blocker option uses the checksum of a file or the Original File Name property.
